READING, Pa. – St. Mary's College of Maryland cemented its dynasty by collecting its fourth consecutive United East Conference Presidents' Cup as released by the league office July 2. St. Mary's College has won the Presidents' Cup four out of the last five years since joining the United East in 2021-22.

"Day in and day out, our student-athletes, coaches, and support staff remained committed to supporting one another while representing St. Mary's College with excellence at the highest levels," outgoing Director of Athletics & Recreation Crystal Gibson said. "This achievement is a powerful reflection of the dedication, resilience, and unity that define our Seahawk family and the broader campus community."

In addition to capturing the Presidents' Cup, the Seahawks also claimed the honor for Top Overall Athletic Program – Women's Team for a third consecutive year.

"I am immensely proud of everyone who contributes to the success of our women's athletic programs," said Nairem Moran, fifth-year director of athletic communications and senior woman administrator. "Earning this honor for a third consecutive year reflects the relentless work ethic, resilience, and passion our student-athletes, coaches, and staff bring each day. Their commitment to excellence, both on and off the field, is what makes this achievement so meaningful."

The Presidents' Cup annually recognizes the athletic achievements of its members. The Cup winner is determined by a scoring system which rewards a school for success during both regular season and postseason competitions.

For the last five years, the Presidents' Cup has been a highly contested two-school race between the Seahawks and Penn State Harrisburg.

St. Mary's College kept its foot on the gas, sitting in the top spot of the Presidents' Cup standings throughout the year. The Seahawks owned a 2.00 margin over Harrisburg following the conclusion of the fall sports championship season. After the winter sports championship campaign, SMCM boasted its lead to 2.30. Harrisburg would minimize the gap with its success during the spring sports championships, but the Seahawks held on to the Presidents' Cup by a 1.07 margin.

The Seahawks hoisted United East tournament championship trophies in a record 11 different sports – women's cross country, field hockey, women's volleyball, women's basketball, men's indoor track & field, women's indoor track & field, men's lacrosse, women's lacrosse, women's tennis, men's outdoor track & field, and women's outdoor track & field.

SMCM also notched six regular-season championship crowns in field hockey, men's soccer, women's basketball, men's lacrosse, women's lacrosse, and women's tennis.

The St. Mary's College women's athletic programs were dominant on the quest for their third consecutive Top Overall Athletic Program – Women's Team Award as they finished with eight conference crowns. The Seahawks notched a 4.00 lead following the winter sports season before claiming the Women's Team Award with a 2.69 margin of victory over Harrisburg.

Penn State Harrisburg earned the award for the Top Overall Men's Athletic Program, edging St. Mary's College by 0.81 as the Lions collected four United East titles.

Additionally, the men's cross country, women's soccer, and men's tennis teams finished as the United East runners-up in their respective tournament championships.

The conference sponsors 21 championships with St. Mary's College having the potential to compete in 17 as the Seahawks do not sponsor men's golf, softball, men's volleyball, or women's flag football. For the third straight year, every Seahawk team eligible for United East action advanced to the postseason.
