BRIDGEWATER, Va. – The St. Mary's College of Maryland field hockey picked up their first loss of the season Saturday afternoon (Sept. 5). St. Mary's College (1-1) found itself in a second consecutive one-goal game, dropping a 1-0 non-conference decision to Bridgewater (Va.) College (1-1).
How It Happened
- A goal in the fifth minute was all that Bridgewater needed to post its first victory of 2026.
- Maylynn Watson notched her first goal of the season at 4:47 as Watson put away the rebound of a blocked shot.
- The Seahawks were limited to five shots in 60 minutes of action. SMCM's most promising opportunities came in the second quarter as sophomores Morgan Knott (Denton, Md./North Caroline) and Julie Presgraves (Frederick, Md./Frederick) each put an attempt on frame.
