St. Mary's City, Md. - The York (Pa.) College men's tennis team won its fifth straight match as the Spartans posted a 9-0 blanking of St. Mary's College of Maryland in Capital Athletic Conference action Thursday.

York's senior Jeff Mansfield (Bartonsville, Pa./North Harford) halted junior Kenny Nugent (Pocomoke, Md./Pocomoke) win streak at eight matches as Mansfield notched a 6-4, 6-3 victory at No. 5 singles, giving the Spartans (9-7, 4-2 CAC) a 7-0 advantage.  Nugent dropped to 14-4 on the season, suffering his first loss at the fifth singles flight for a 6-1 slate.

St. Mary's (11-8, 1-4 CAC) returns to action tomorrow in Frederick, Maryland with a conference match against Hood College at 3:30.
