St. Mary's City, Md. - The Stevenson University men's tennis team extended its win streak to two as the Mustangs (4-4, 3-2 CAC) bested St. Mary's College of Maryland 5-4 in Capital Athletic Conference action Friday afternoon.

Today's match was the conference opener for the Seahawks (9-4, 0-1 CAC) as well as their first match in close to three weeks (since a 6-3 win at Misericordia University).  The loss also snaps St. Mary's three-match win streak.

After the tandem of freshmen Thomas Hoesman (Ellicott City, Md./Howard) and Robbie Bourdon (Huntingtown, Md./Huntingtown) gave the Seahawks a 2-1 edge with an 8-5 win at No. 3 doubles, the Mustangs captured four straight singles matches to seal the CAC victory.  The deciding point came at No. 4 singles as sophomore Kevin Stamm (Leonardtown, Md./Leonardtown) posted a come-from-behind 3-6, 6-3, 7-5 win over Hoesman.

St. Mary's will wrap up this afternoon's action with a non-conference match against Southern Virginia University.
