St. Mary's City, Md. – Senior David Blowe (Frederick, Md./Gov. Thomas Johnson) notched the deciding point to give Hood College a 5-4 Capital Athletic Conference victory over St. Mary's College of Maryland Wednesday afternoon on Senior Day, snapping St. Mary's two-match win streak.

D. Blowe needed three sets to get past senior Sam Barton (Edgewater, Md./Key) at No. 3 singles.  Barton claimed the first set 6-4 before D. Blowe captured the next two, 6-1, 6-0 for the win.

The Seahawks (10-6, 2-2 CAC) were looking at a 2-1 shortfall after doubles action before tallying victories at the No. 6 and No. 5 singles flights.  Junior Mike Hardman (Bowie, Md./Bowie) tied the match at 3-3 with his 6-0, 6-1 win at No. 2 singles over junior Jeff Levy (Rockville, Md./Wootton).

First-year Kyle Feeley (Baltimore, Md./Mount Saint Joseph) returned a 4-3 lead to the Seahawks with a 6-3, 6-1 triumph over sophomore Andrew Blowe (Frederick, Md./Gov. Thomas Johnson) at No. 4 singles.  However, the Blazers (3-6, 1-2 CAC) claimed a win at No. 1 singles to set up the 4-4 draw.

St. Mary's will return to action this Saturday, April 10 as the Seahawks travel to Bridgewater, Va. to take on Bridgewater College in non-conference action at 3:00 pm.
