Box Score Bayamon, P. R. - The St. Mary's College of Maryland women's basketball team notched their second win of the season with a 62-40 non-conference win over Universidad del Sagrado Corazon Saturday afternoon in the Puerto Rico Division III Classic.
Senior Marché Pearson (Baltimore, Md./Laurel) paced the Seahawks (2-6) in the win with a game-high 16 points while fellow classmate Myeisha Wallace (West River, Md./Southern) grabbed a season-best 11 rebounds.
Though St. Mary's won by a 22-point margin, the Seahawks only held a 25-21 halftime advantage as the team shot 25.0% (9-36) from the field. St. Mary's picked it up in the second stanza, more than doubling its first-half shooting percentage to 51.6% (16-of-31).
Andreas Ramos paced the Sagrado Corazon Delfinas with 11 points while Dalimei Cedeno hauled in nine boards.
The Seahawks return to the hardwood tomorrow afternoon, facing Alvernia University in their final game of the Puerto Rico Division III Classic at 1:00 pm.
