Fredericksburg, Va. – The St. Mary's College of Maryland men's tennis team dropped their third Capital Athletic Conference match of the season, collecting a 9-0 setback at the hands of No. 19 University of Mary Washington on Wednesday night.

Mary Washington (17-3, 6-0 CAC), who is ranked fourth in the Atlantic South region, has now won 10 straight matches while St. Mary's (4-6, 2-3 CAC) remains fourth in the conference standings with a pair of conference matches left to play in the regular season.

Junior captain Mark Hardesty (Westminster, Md./Westminster) gave sophomore Alex Cragg (South Riding, Va./Freedom) a run for his money at No. 1 singles. Hardesty posted a 6-1 win in the first set before Cragg responded with a 6-4 victory in the second. Cragg then had to outlast Hardesty 14-12 in the third-set tiebreaker for his seventh straight singles win as Cragg moved to 7-0 on the year.
