Seahawk Men's Tennis Drops Non-Conference Match at Washington College

Chestertown, Md. – The St. Mary's College of Maryland men's tennis team suffered a 5-0 setback at the hands of Washington College Friday evening in a non-conference match played to decision inside the Johnson Fitness Center.

Washington College (7-2) swept all three doubles matches as the Shoremen won 8-2 at No. 3 doubles first followed by an 8-1 victory at No. 1 doubles. Washington College staked a 3-0 lead with an 8-5 triumph at No. 2 doubles.

The Shoremen then claimed a 6-1, 6-0 win at No. 5 singles and a 6-1, 6-2 victory at No. 6 singles to complete the shutout win.

St. Mary's will have a few days to regroup before traveling to Newport News, Virginia to take on Christopher Newport University in a Capital Athletic Conference match on Wednesday, April 8th at 4:00 p.m.
