St. Mary's City, Md. – The St. Mary's College of Maryland women's basketball team snapped their seven-game skid Saturday afternoon with a 74-68 comeback victory over Frostburg State University in Capital Athletic Conference action.

For the second straight game, four starters scored in double figures with two collecting a double-double. Junior center Nina Haller (Chevy Chase, Md./Bethesda-Chevy Chase) led the way with her sixth double-double as Haller tallied 20 points and grabbed 10 rebounds. First-year forward Kobe Chaney (Annapolis, Md./South River) earned her fourth double-double on 11 points and game-and season-high 17 boards.

Along with her career-high 18, Nowlin notched career-bests of seven steals and four triples while Kline added a career-high six assists.

As a team, St. Mary's shot a season-best 44.3-percent from the floor and matched its season-high with 10 blocks as Haller had four and Chaney chipped in a pair.

St. Mary's (4-9, 2-4 CAC) dominated the first quarter as the Seahawks raced out a 22-10 lead behind 10 points from Kline, who was 4-of-5 from the field. Frostburg (2-10, 0-6 CAC) regrouped and answered in the second period, outscoring the hosts, 18-9, to cut its deficit to 31-28 at halftime as first-year forward Amber Downey (Baltimore, Md./Chesapeake) knocked down a jumper with six ticks on the clock.

Kline led all scorers at intermission with 10 points while Chaney aided the cause with eight rebounds and seven points. Senior forward Courtney Young (Upper Marlboro, Md./Bishop McNamara) paced the Bobcats with eight points on 4-of-7 shooting.

The game was tied twice and the lead changed once in the third stanza. St. Mary's posted a 45-40 advantage at 4:49 as Nowlin made one of two free throws. FSU responded with an 8-0 run to stake a 48-45 lead at 1:55. Nowlin's jumper with 55 ticks and Haller's free throw with three seconds left tied the game at 48-48 as the teams headed into the fourth and final quarter.

The Bobcats opened up the final quarter of play with an 8-2 run to hold a 56-50 advantage at 8:19 as a three-pointer from first-year guard Megan Kelly (Mt. Airy, Md./Linganore) capped the run. Eight points from Haller and a pair of triples by Kline powered a 17-1 run to put St. Mary's on top, 67-59, at 4:21. Frostburg would cut the lead twice to three but would get no closer.

Kelly finished the day with a game-high 22 points on 6-of-13 shooting from downtown while Young contributed 14 points and 10 rebounds.
