St. Mary's City, Md. – Sophomore attacker Ali Collie (Glen Arm, Md./Dulaney) paced the 18th-ranked St. Mary's College of Maryland women's lacrosse team to a 15-5 non-conference win over Virginia Wesleyan College Wednesday afternoon. Today marked the home-opener for the Seahawks.

How It Happened
- St. Mary's owned a 2-0 lead at 26:19 before junior midfielder Megan Schallock (Waukesh, Wis./Mukwonago) responded for the Marlins 10 seconds later. VWC would get no closer as the Seahawks fired off nine unanswered goals to post a 12-2 halftime advantage.
- The Seahawks extended their lead to 14-2 at 17:44 before Virginia Wesleyan reeled off three in a row, including a pair from junior midfielder Becca Winslow (Nokesville, Va./Brentsville District), to make it 14-5 with 12 ticks on the clock.
- Junior captain Megan Cannon (Reisterstown, Md./Notre Dame Prep) put the finishing touches on St. Mary's second straight win as Cannon completed a feed from Collie for the buzzer-beating goal.
For St. Mary's (2-0)
- Collie finished the afternoon with career-bests of five assists, six points, and two ground balls.
- Senior midfielder Erika Kopf (Annapolis, Md./Annapolis) notched three goals and an assist while fellow classmate Meg Gesner (Severna Park, Md./Severn) added a hat trick as well.
- Senior captain Mackenzie Rayburn (Bel Air, Md./John Carroll) led the defensive effort with three ground balls and two caused turnovers while also adding a team-best three draw controls.
- The Seahawks collected a 35-17 shot advantage and edged VWC, 18-16, in ground balls while winning the draw control battle by an 11-8 margin.
