Hilton Head Island, S.C. – The St. Mary's College of Maryland men's tennis team kicked off their spring break trip with a non-conference 8-1 road win over the Stevenson University Mustangs on Monday.

Doubles
- Junior captain Connor McKissick (Leonardtown, Md./Leonardtown) and first-year Jonathan Gorel (Jessup, Md./Hammond) would win their No. 1 doubles match up with a tight 9-7 decision over Stevenson's Bryan Gieselman and Wornden Ly for their first win of 2016-17.
- Junior captain James Loftis (Annapolis, Md./Saint Andrews [Del.]) and first-year Ethan Garren (Arnold, Md./Broadneck) would start their spring break trip by topping the Mustangs' Peter Appiah and Douglas Vaughn, 8-3, at No. 2 doubles for their second win of the season.
- First-year Ron Stith (Cheltenham, Md./Lackey) and junior captain Kyle Van Winter (Scaggsville, Md./Good Counsel) cruised to an 8-2 win to secure the doubles sweep of Stevenson. This is also Stith and Van Winter's first triumph of the season.
Singles
- The Seahawks would win five of the six singles matches, doing so in straight sets.
- McKissick picked up his second straight singles triumph and improved to 5-3 in dual matches with a 6-1, 6-2 win over Vaughn at No. 3 singles.
- Stith notched his team-leading sixth singles victory with a 6-0, 6-1 win over Kevin Slujtner at No. 5 singles.
- First-year Zach Talamonti (Falls Church, Va./George Mason) came on in relief for Van Winter at No. 6 singles and won 6-1, 6-0 over Tony Beres for his second victory of the season.
