Seahawk Men's Tennis Stumble at Goucher

Towson, Md. – The St. Mary's College of Maryland men's tennis team (6-5) dropped a non-conference matchup, 8-1, to the Gophers of Goucher College (7-5) on Saturday morning.

Doubles

  • Junior captain James Loftis (Annapolis, Md./Saint Andrews [Del.]) and first-year Ethan Garren (Arnold, Md./Broadneck) put up a hard fight against Midori Fujitani and Jack Hodges at No. 2 doubles but would lose the match, 8-6.

Singles

  • First-year Zach Talamonti (Falls Church, Va./George Mason) was the bright spot on the day for the Seahawks. Talamonti would win the lone point against Chad Resnik with a three-set victory, picking up a 4-6, 6-0, 10-4 victory.
