St. Mary's City, Md. – The St. Mary's College of Maryland men's tennis team (6-6, 0-2 CAC) dropped 9-0 Capital Athletic Conference decision to the 28th-ranked Captains of Christopher Newport University (7-7, 1-1 CAC) on Wednesday afternoon.

Doubles
- The Seahawks would fight hard against nationally-ranked Christopher Newport but would ultimately drop all three doubles matchups, claiming four out of 24 possible games.
- Junior captain Connor McKissick (Leonardtown, Md./Leonardtown) and first-year Jonathan Gorel (Jessup, Md./Hammond) had a tough draw at No. 1 doubles, facing the regionally-ranked tandem of Justin Cerny and David Reed and falling 8-0.
- Junior captain Kyle Van Winter (Scaggsville, Md./Good Counsel) and first-year Ron Stith (Cheltenham, Md./Henry E. Lackey) captured three games from Dominic Lacombe and Andy Mason at No. 3 doubles.
Singles
- First-year Zach Talamonti (Falls Church, Va./George Mason) would come on for an injured Gorel while first-year Jack Brandenburg (Annapolis, Md./Annapolis) would sub in Van Winter in singles actions. However, the relief would not be enough as the Seahawks would drop all of their singles matches to CNU.
- First-year Ethan Garren (Arnold, Md./Broadneck) would play Cerny, who ranks 49th in Division III, tough at No. 1 singles, taking five games from the national-ranked Captain.
