Ashland, Va. – Senior midfielder Erika Kopf (Annapolis, Md./Annapolis) found the back of the net four times but the No. 19 St. Mary's College of Maryland women's lacrosse team came up short against Randolph-Macon College Wednesday afternoon. The Yellow Jackets handed St. Mary's its third straight loss by way of an 11-7 decision.

How It Happened

• St. Mary's staked a 3-0 lead at 12:32 behind goals from Kopf and midfielders Caitlin Katchmar (Phoenix, Md./Hereford) and Megan Cannon (Reisterstown, Md./Notre Dame Prep).
• The Yellow Jackets took over with four unanswered goals in the final 9:39 of the half, including two goals in 29 seconds, to claim a 4-3 lead at the break. Junior midfielder Alicia Hsieh (Ellicott City, Md./Centennial) notched a hat trick in the 4-0 run while junior attacker Alex Lightfoot (Fairfax, Va./W.T. Woodson) assisted on all four goals.
• Randolph-Macon bolstered its advantage to 6-3 with the first two scores of the second half.
• The Seahawks then tallied three of the next four goals to pull within 7-6 at 12:26 as Kopf picked up two more goals.
• Another four-goal run by the Yellow Jackets put the game out of reach as R-MC boasted an 11-6 advantage with 1:52 remaining in the game. Hsieh scored three in a row in less than a four-minute span.
• Kopf notched her team-leading 13th goal of the season with 1:15 left in the contest.

For St. Mary's (3-3)

• Kopf's four goals is a career-best while adding a career-high three ground balls and a caused turnover.
• Cannon finished the day with two goals and a career-best seven ground balls plus two caused turnovers.
• Junior midfielder Kerri Kline (Hagerstown, Md./Saint James) picked up a season-best three draw controls while senior captain Mackenzie Rayburn (Bel Air, Md./John Carroll) contributed five ground balls and a career-best three caused turnovers.
• Sophomore goalkeeper Emma Brown (Warwick, N.Y./Warwick Valley) came up with six saves, one ground ball and one caused turnover.
• St. Mary's outshot the Yellow Jackets, 29-20, and hustled to a 26-16 margin in ground balls.

For Randolph-Macon (2-1)

• Scorers (G-A): Hsieh (7-1); Susie Snee (2-0); Hannah Jones (2-0); Lightfoot (0-7)
• Goalie: Allie Walker (16 saves, 7 GA, 60:00)
• Randolph-Macon controlled the center of the field with an 11-9 edge in draw controls as senior midfielder Susie Snee (Bel Air, Md./John Carroll) grabbed a game-best six draws.

• St. Mary's will be back on the road for its next game when the Seahawks travel to Salem, Virginia, to face Roanoke College on Monday, March 13 under the lights at 7:00 p.m.
