Women’s Swimming Edged by Southern Virginia

ST. MARY'S CITY, Md. - The St. Mary's College of Maryland women's swimming team (0-1) opened up their 2021 spring season by hosting the Southern Virginia University Knights (5-2) on Saturday (Mar. 13) afternoon. The Seahawks were edged by the Knights 96-91.

How It Happened
  • The Seahawks captured their first victory in the 1650 Freestyle as Anna LaPoint finished first with a time of 19:27.35. St. Mary's College kept their momentum rolling into the next event with another first place finish from Anna Kidd in the 200 Yard Freestyle. Kidd finished with a time of 2:03.77.
  • Christina Trnkus won the 200 Yard Butterfly with a time of 2:28.71. Next, Kidd won her second event of the afternoon with a time of 5:43.55 in the 500 Yard Freestyle. In event 19, Bailey Edgren brought home a first place finish with a time of 2:37.95 in the 200 Yard Breaststroke.
  • The Seahawks wrapped up the meet with a first place finish in the 200 Yard Freestyle Relay. The team of Lapoint, Trnkus, Kidd, and Christina Bonass finished with a time of 1:47.23.
