LATHAM, N.Y. -- Entering 2022, the NCAA alongside the United East Conference, celebrates the 50th anniversary of one of the most important documents in collegiate athletics, Title IX.
 

Put into action in 1972 by the federal government, Title IX states that, "No person in the United States shall, on the basis of sex, be excluded from participation in, be denied the benefits of, or be subjected to discrimination under any education program or activity receiving Federal financial assistance."

To raise awareness about the celebration, the United East member institutions will be participating in the "50th Anniversary 5K". In order to participate in this event, student-athletes as well as athletic staff members are asked to complete a 5K at some point during the month of February and track it using a smartphone/smart watch/etc. Once completed, the participant can submit the form below which includes a picture of your 5K completion. In the spirit of Title IX and competition, the United East will track the uploads to determine which of our nine member schools has the most participants. Each week, the conference will announce which school is leading along with some information about Title IX.
