Three School Records Broken as Men's Indoor Track and Field Compete at Haverford

HAVERFORD, PA - The St. Mary's College of Maryland Men's Indoor Track and Field Team traveled to Haverford Pennsylvania Saturday, January 28th to participate in the Seamus McElligott Invitational. St. Mary's was one of fifteen teams participating including the hosting team, the Black Squirrels of Haverford College. 
 

How It Happened:

  • Emmanuel Douge notched 11th place in the Men's 60 meter dash with a time of 7.38, just .05 short of his personal best which is the school record of 7.33. Just behind him were his teammates Jaedon Aso at 7.82 placing 22nd and Zack Kralec at 8.37 placing 27th. 

  • Emmanuel Douge breaks the school record that he previously held in the 200 meter dash with a time of 23.47, which landed him fourth place overall. Zane Obi notched 17th place with a time of 25.02 in this event, and Jaedon Aso behind him at 21st with a time of 26.02.

  • Zane Obin secured 13th place in the 400 meter run with a time of 55.38. Alex Gouin was close behind in 21st at 1:00.70. 

  • Michael Wade notched 15th place in the 3000 meter run with a time of 9:09.56, which breaks the previous school record of 9:38.23.

  • Zack Kralec breaks his previously held school record for pole vault at 3.67 meters. This performance notched him fourth place overall. 

  • Personal Records set at today's Seamus McElligott Invitational for the team are as follows:

Up Next:

The Seahawks will be back in action on Saturday, February 4th as they travel to Collegeville, Pennsylvania to participate in the Frank Colden Invitational hosted by Urisinus College.
