Washington, DC – The St. Mary's College of Maryland Women's Tennis Team traveled to our nation's capital for a matchup with the Catholic University Cardinals. The Seahawks would fall by a final score of 6-3. 

How It Happened:

Doubles

• Amber Manspeaker and Cleopatra Solomon competed in the No. 1 spot for the Seahawks. Manspeaker and Solomon came out on top, taking down their Cardinal opponents 8-5.

• Ellie Walter and Auren Lovejoy dropped their match in the No. 2 spot, 8-5.

• The Seahawks No.3 double tandem featured Blessing Samuel and Melak Armstrong. Melak and Armstrong fell in their match, 8-0.

Singles 

• Cleopatra Solomon won in two sets in the No. 1 singles match, winning both sets 6-1. 

• Amber Manspeaker competed in the No. 2 match and kept the momentum going for the Seahawks winning in two sets. Manspeaker took the match, 6-3, 6-4. 

• Ellie Water fell in the No. 3 singles match, 6-3, 6-0.

• Lauren Lovejoy came up just short in the No. 4 match, falling 6-2 and 6-4.

• Blessing Samuel lost both sets 6-1 in the No. 5 match. 

• Melak concluded the singles matches for the Seahawks in the No. 6 spot. Armstrong dropped two sets, losing 6-0 and 6-1.
