St. Mary’s College Women’s Swimming Wraps Up 2023 at Washington College

CHESTERTOWN, Md. – Senior captain Anna Kidd (Arbutus, Md./Mount de Sales) had a hand in three wins Saturday afternoon (Dec. 9) as the St. Mary's College of Maryland women's swim team closed out 2023. St. Mary's College (4-7) dropped a 152-95 non-conference decision at Washington College (3-6) in their last action of the fall semester.

How It Happened
  • Kidd started the meet by swimming the breaststroke leg on the winning 400 medley relay (4:23.56). Joining her on the relay were senior captain Marissa Fields (Clements, Md./Chopticon), first-year Kelsie Miller (Potomac, Md./Churchill), and senior Kate Holland (Rockville, Md./Rockville).
  • Kidd then picked up individual victories in the 200 freestyle in 2:04.44 and the 200 individual medley in 2:21.04. She also added a third-place finish in the 100 freestyle in 56.80.
  • Miller collected three second-place finishes after earning the win as part of the 400-medley relay. She finished second in the 200 butterfly in 2:16.75 before taking second in the 100 freestyle in 56.51. Miller's last second-place finish came in the 100 butterfly in 1:00.05.
  • Fields earned a second-place finish in the 100 backstroke in 1:07.97 while swimming the third leg of the second-place 200 freestyle relay (1:56.45) along with Holland, sophomore Bella Ramirez (Silver Spring, Md./Springbrook), and senior Lilianna Bowman (Westminster, Md./Winters Mill).
  • Fields also picked up a fourth-place finish in the 50 freestyle in 28.49.
  • Bowman grabbed a second-place finish in the 200 backstroke in 2:34.29 as well as a third-place finish in the 500 freestyle in 6:27.38.
  • Senior Julia Milner (Middletown, Md./Middletown) claimed a second-place finish in the 200 breaststroke before leading off the 200-freestyle relay 'B' team to third place (2:01.61). Joining Milner on the relay were sophomore Kate Pass (Annapolis, Md./Broadneck), first-year Kaitlyn Soldon (Warrenton, Va./Kettle Run), and senior Katie Stolzenberger (Island Heights, N.J./Allentown).
  • Junior Emelina Grimm (Rockville, Md./Magruder) led the Seahawks with a third-place finish in the 1000 freestyle in 13:14.32 while Holland took third in the 100 breaststroke in 1:20.94.
