NEWPORT NEWS, VA - The St. Mary's College of Maryland Men's Indoor Track and Field Team traveled to Newport News, Virginia to compete in the Coast-To-Coast Athletic Conference Indoor Championships. They were among five other teams to compete in the two-day Conference Championship including the hosting Captains of Christopher Newport University.
How It Happened:

The Seahawks started their Indoor Championship showing on Friday afternoon as their men's throwers had two top-ten finishers. Marion Lajara placed ninth at 10.06 meters in Men's Weight Throw and Max Baitman placed tenth at 8.43 meters.

Zack Kralec was another top-ten finisher in the Men's Pole Vault, placing fourth at 4.06 meters.

The Men's Distance Medley school record was smashed on Friday afternoon by the quartet of Kelly Byrne, Eli Henson, Quentin Pastore, and Michael Wade. Their performance of 11:11.72 earned them fourth place overall and a new school record.

Saturday proved to be as successful as Friday, with Emmanuel Douge breaking his own school record in the Men's 60 Meter Dash. Douge placed seventh overall with a time of 7.23. Douge also finished seventh overall in the Men's 200 Meter Dash with a time of 23.52.

Zane Obi finished 11th overall in the Men's 400 Meter Dash with a time of 55.60. Obi's teammates Eli Henson and Alex Gouin were not far behind with 13th and 14th place finishes.

Quentin Pastore finished ninth overall in the Men's 800 Meter Run with a time of 2:08.15. Kelly Byrne was behind Pastore in 14th running 2:17.99. Nate Norris finished 15th at 2:24.43.

Michael Wade broke the school record and finished fifth overall in the Men's 3000 Meter Run with a time of 9:00.81.
Head Coach Reava Potter stated, "[She does] feel like we did well and [is] excited to see how we do during the outdoor season".
