VIRGINIA BEACH, VA - The St. Mary's College of Maryland Men's Outdoor Track and Field Team opened their outdoor season in Virginia Beach, Virginia at the Betty S. Rogers Invitational. They were among thirteen other teams to compete in the two-day track meet including the hosting Marlins of Virginia Wesleyan University.

On Friday afternoon, the Seahawk's outdoor season started strong as their men's throwers had two top-fifteen finishers. Marion Lajara placed ninth at 26.88 meters in Men's Hammer Throw and Max Baitman placed 11th at 24.36 meters.

Zack Kralec notched first place in the Men's Pole Vault on Friday afternoon at 3.65 meters. This sets the school record for Men's Outdoor Track and Field Pole Vault. Kralec also landed 15th place in the Men's Javelin Throw with a distance of 30.15 meters.

Amaun Hill broke the school record and notched a top-ten finish in the Men's Long Jump at 5.72 meters.Â

Patton Harbourt earned fifth place in the Men's 3000 Meter Steeplechase with a time of 12:26.45.

The quartet of Michael Wade, Nate Norris, Zane Obi, and Eli Henson broke the school record in the Men's 4x800 Meter Relay with a time of 8:53.24. This performance earned them third place overall.Â

Jaedon Aso, Emmanuel Douge, Amaun Hill, and Alex Gouin broke the school record and earned fourth place in the Men's 4x200 Meter Relay with a time of 1:37.38.Â

Saturday proved to be as successful as Friday, as Marion Lajara notched another top-ten finish. Lajara earned eighth place in the Men's Discus Throw with a distance of 32.43 meters. He also earned eighth place in the Men's Shot Put at 10.88 meters.

Michael Wade smashed the Men's 3000 Meter Run school record with a time of 9:17.49. This earned him a third-place finish.Â

Nate Norris notched eighth place overall in the Men's 800 Meter Run on Saturday afternoon.
