St. Mary's City, MD. – The St. Mary's College of Maryland Women's Tennis team hosted the Nittany Lions of Penn State Berks in a United East Conference match. The Seahawks swept the Nittany Lions 9-0.

How It Happened:

Doubles

• The Seahawks won all three of the doubles matchups, only allowing three total points in all three sets. 

• Diana Levit and Hannah Gorel won the number one doubles spot in stride, scoring 8-1.

• Amber Manspeaker and Sydney Anderson easily won the number two doubles spot with a score of 8-1.

• Giselle Harris and Ellie Walter secured the third and final doubles win scoring 8-1.

Singles

• The Seahawks won all six of the singles matches against the Nittany Lions.

• Diana Levit battled hard in the number one singles spot, defeating her opponent 7-5 in the first set. She capitalized on this winning energy and won the second set 6-1.

• Hannah Gorel's opponent did not score any points against her in the number two spot. Gorel won both sets 6-0.

• Amber Manspeaker clenched the number three singles spot in two sets, winning 6-2, and 6-0.

• Sydney Anderson won the number four singles spot in two sets, winning both sets 6-1.

• The number five singles spot was won by Giselle Harris. Harris kept both sets to an incredible 6-0. 

• Ellie Walter had no points scored against her in the number six singles spot. She won both of her sets 6-0.

Up Next for the Seahawks

The Seahawks will be back in action on Wednesday, April 12th for a United East Conference match-up against Carks Summit. The Seahawks will host the Defenders at 1:00 pm at the Somerset Tennis Complex on the campus of St. Mary's College of Maryland.
