Women's Tennis Competes at ITA Southeast Regionals

Fredericksburg, VA – The St. Mary's College of Maryland Women's Tennis Team competed in the annual ITA Southeast Regionals on the campus of the University of Mary Washington. The Seahawks competed in day one of the event in both singles and doubles, but did not compete in day two due to poor weather conditions.

How It Happened:

Doubles

  • Cleopatra Solomon and Amber Manspeaker competed against the duo of Ashley Chang and Sophia Kim of Johns Hopkins University during the round of 32. Solomon and Manspeaker fell 8-0 in a hard fought match. Chang and Kim were seeded fourth entering the tournament.

Singles

  • Cleopatra Solomon battled Mary Washington's Riley Smith in the singles round of 64. Solomon and Smith played two sets, with Smith taking both by scores of 6-1 and 6-3.
