Hilton Head Island, SC – The St. Mary's College of Maryland Women's Tennis Team (1-2) began their second day of the PTR Spring Tennis Fest with a matchup against the Cornell College Rams (11-6). The Seahawks dropped the contest to the Rams, 7-2.

How It Happened:

Doubles

• Cleopatra Solomon and Amber Manspeaker took home a victory in the first doubles match with a 8-4 victory. 

• Giselle Harris and Lauren Lovejoy fell in the number two doubles match by a final score of 8-0.

• Blessing Samuel and Melak Armstrong came up short in the number three doubles match by an 8-0 margin. 

Singles 

• Cleopatra Solomon earned a three set victory in the number 1 singles match. Solomon dropped the first set 7-5, won the second set 6-1 and took home the tire breaker 10-7.

• Amber Manspeaker dropped both sets of the number two singles match, 6-3 and 6-2.

• Giselle Harris represented the Seahawks in the number three singles match. Harris dropped the first set 6-0 and the second set 6-3.

• Lauren Lovejoy battled all the way to a tiebreaker in the number four singles match, losing the first set 6-2, winning the second 6-3, and ultimately dropping the tiebreaker 10-5. 

• Melak Armstrong dropped the number five singles match in two sets, falling  6-1 and then 6-4.

• Blessing Samuel wrapped things up for the Seahawks in the number six singles match. Samuel dropped both sets by a score of 6-1.
