Mechanicsville, Va. -- The St. Mary's College of Maryland men's cross country team took part in their first race of the 2024 season, competing in the Spider Alumni Open, which featured teams from both Division I and Division III. The Seahawks completed a 6k race and finished in 11th place as a team.

Wade was the first Seahawk to cross the finish line and did so in 20:28, earning him 86th place and setting a new personal best time. Hogue followed after, taking home 105th place with a time of 21:24. Lane finished close behind with a time of 21:34 taking 111th finish. Carberry and Fisher rounded out the top five with 131st place with a time of 22:45 and 134th finish at 22:47 respectively. Fisher finished with a new personal best time. Hogue, Lane, and Carberry all made their Seahawks debut.
There were 162 runners in the field for the men's race.
