Box Score Baltimore, Md. – The St. Mary's College of Maryland men's tennis team traveled to Baltimore for a matchup with the Goucher College Gophers. The Seahawks would fall by a final score of 7-0.
How It Happened:
Doubles
- Max Esztergomi (Bethesda, Md./ Walt Whitman) and Jacob Nelson competed in the No. 1 spot for the Seahawks. Esztergomi and Nelson fell 6-0.
- Daoud Alkhalidi (Bel Air, Md./ Calvert Academy) and Michael Shively (Potomac, Md./ Walt Whitman) dropped their match in the No. 2 spot, 6-4.
- The Seahawks No.3 double tandem featured Alex Lyman and Devon Gorel (Jessup, Md./ Hammond). Lyman and Gorel fell in their match, 6-2.
- Nelson and Lyman both competed in their first Seahawk debut.
Singles
- Max Esztergomi (Bethesda, Md./ Walt Whitman) lost in two sets in the No. 1 singles match, at 6-1, 6-2.
- Jacob Nelson competed in the No. 2 match, dropping the match, 6-1, 6-3.
- Daoud Alkhalidi (Bel Air, Md./ Calvert Academy) fell in the No. 3 singles match, both at 6-0.
- Michael Shively (Potomac, Md./ Walt Whitman) came up short in the No. 4 match, falling 6-3 and 6-1.
- Devon Gorel (Jessup, Md./ Hammond) lost both sets 6-0 in the No. 5 match.
- Alex Lyman concluded the singles matches for the Seahawks in the No. 6 spot. Lyman dropped two sets, losing 6-0, 6-1.
