Box Score Fredericksburg, Va. – The St. Mary's College of Maryland women's tennis team competed in the annual ITA Southeast Regionals at the University of Mary Washington campus. The Seahawks faced off on both Saturday and Sunday in both doubles and singles.
How It Happened:
Doubles
- Cleo Solomon (Waldorf, Md./ North Point) and Amber Manspeaker (Finksburg, Md./ Westminster) competed against Paige Brightwell and Meaghan Laniewski of Catholic University of America after a first-round bye. Solomon and Manspeaker won 8-3 in the Blue Draw doubles.
- Following the win, Solomon and Manspeaker faced off against Emma Bauer and Fleur Gaalman of Randolph College. Solomon and Manspeaker fell 3-8 in the semifinals for the Blue Draw doubles.
Singles
- Cleo Solomon (Waldorf, Md./ North Point) battled Mallika Reddy from Haverford College in the Champions Draw. Solomon and Reddy took the match to a tie break, with the final scores of 0-6, 6-3, 4-10.
- Amber Manspeaker (Finksburg, Md./ Westminster) took on Lindsey Bergelin of Christopher Newport University. Manspeaker fell in two sets 0-6 for both.
- Solomon fell 3-8 in the consolation match against Riho Iijima of Washington & Lee University.
- Manspeaker lost 1-8 in the consolation match against Evelyn Whiteside from Salisbury University.
