Kelsie Miller (Rockville, Md./Churchill) picked up the Atlantic East Conference Women's Swimmer of the Week award as announced by the league office Monday afternoon (Nov. 17) for the third time this season. This is Miller's ninth career weekly Atlantic East honor award.
St. Mary's College of Maryland women's swimming dropped a 163-99 decision at University of Mary Washington (Nov. 14). Then on Nov. 15, St. Mary's College fell 166-91 at Marymount (Va.) University before bouncing back with a 209-30 victory over Gallaudet University.
Miller paced the Seahawks at Mary Washington with three wins, starting her evening with a victory in the 400-individual medley (4:44.45) before capturing the 100-butterfly in 56.98. These two times are 51st in the nation and 18th in the nation, respectively, at the Division III level. She added a first-place finish in the 200-individual medley as well in 2:13.39. Miller also anchored the second-place 200-freestyle relay (1:40.33).
She was one of two SMCM women's swimmers to notch a win in their conference split at Marymount with Gallaudet. Miller captured the 100-butterfly in 59.22 after taking second in the 200-butterfly (2:18.42) and the 100-freestyle (56.55). She once again anchored the second-place 200-freestyle relay (1:45.17).
St. Mary's College (6-4) will return to action this weekend at the three-day Yellow Jacket Invitational (Nov. 21-23) hosted by Randolph-Macon College at the Hampton Aquaplex in Hampton, Va.
