Haylock Selected as United East Outdoor Track Athlete of the Week

LATHAM, N.Y. – Junior Nicholas Haylock (Odenton, Md./Meade) of the St. Mary's College of Maryland men's outdoor track & field team earned the United East Conference Men's Outdoor Track Athlete of the Week award as announced by the conference office Tuesday morning (April 22).
 
This is Haylock's first career outdoor weekly award and third of the 2024-25 track & field season as he garnered the United East Men's Indoor Track Athlete of the Week award twice (Dec. 10, Feb. 18).
 
Haylock finished sixth in the 400m hurdles at the Morgan State University Legacy Meet with a school record time of 58.02, which ranks first in the United East and 18th in the Mid-Atlantic region.
 
He then rejoined his team at Johns Hopkins University/Loyola University Maryland Invite to be a part of the ninth-place 4x400m relay (3:44.98). The 6-1 sprinter and hurdler took 14th in the 110m hurdles in 16.60 while coming in 33rd place in the 100m dash with a personal-best time of 11.76. His time in the 100m dash ranks 10th in the conference.
 
Haylock added a 43rd-place finish in the 200m dash in 24.34, which is good for 16th in the league.
 
St. Mary's College will be back in action next Saturday-Sunday, May 3-4, when the Seahawks compete in the 2025 United East Conference Outdoor Track & Field Championships hosted by Gallaudet University at the Thomas O. Berg Track in Washington, D.C.
