Hogue Highlights Seahawks Men’s Outdoor Track & Field All-United East Teams

LATHAM, N.Y. – First-year Pierson Hogue (Ellicott City, Md./Mt. Hebron) grabbed two major United East Conference Outdoor Track & Field awards following the conclusion of United East Championships on May 3-4. Additionally, 10 Seahawks earned a spot on the All-United East teams.
 
Hogue brought home both the United East Track Athlete and Rookie of the Year awards after tallying 32 points behind four Top 3 finishes. The 6-0 distance runner claimed the gold and First Team All-United East honors in the 800m in 2:02.60 while taking second in the 10,000m (37:43.18) and the 1500m with a personal-best 4:16.75 for a Second Team award. He also picked up a Third Team accolade with a third-place finish in the 5,000m (17:40.97).
 
Hogue is the first Seahawk to claim United East Outdoor Track Athlete of the Year honors while an SMCM athlete claims the Outdoor Rookie of the Year award for the second straight season as Ty Tindal '27 notched the honor last year.
 
Junior captain Zack Kralec (Monkton, Md./Hereford) won the pole vault with a height of 4.45m for First Team All-United East honors. Kralec also added a Third Team award with third place in the javelin throw (46.68m). He is now a three-time All-United East awardee in outdoor.
 
In his first year as a Seahawk, junior Nicholas Haylock (Odenton, Md./Meade) collected four All-United East awards. Haylock captured the 400m hurdles with a school and United East championship record of 57.68 for First Team All-United East honors. He also took top honors in the 110m hurdles for a second First Team award, posting a 15.86. Haylock's other two all-league awards came in the 4x100m and 4x400m relays, which both picked up Second Team honors.
 
First-year Moses McRae (Philadelphia, Pa./Kents Hill (Maine)) crossed the finish line first in the 400m with a personal-best 50.89 for First Team All-United East while tallying Second Team honors as a member of the second place 4x400m relay.
 
Junior Kelly Byrne (Rockville, Md./Rockville) became a three-time All-United East honoree in outdoor with a second-place finish in the 3,000m steeplechase in 10:48.90 for Second Team honors while placing third in the 10,000m in 40:46.44 for a Third Team award.
 
Sophomore captain Collin Fitzgerald (Annapolis, Md./Broadneck) notched three all-conference awards, including two Second Team honors with a pair of second-place finishes in the 200m (22.75) and the 4x100m relay. Fitzgerald finished third in the 100m as well in 11.27 for Third Team All-United East.
 
Sophomore Mason Layne (Taneytown, Md./Francis Scott Key) claimed three Second Team honors with second-place finishes in the 400m in 51.87 and the 4x100m and 4x400m relays, bringing his career total in outdoor track & field to four.
 
Sophomore Jake Robey (Kensington, Md./Georgetown Prep) walked away with two All-United East awards after being part of the second-place 4x400m relay and taking third in the 800m in 2:03.23.
 
Sophomore Aaron Morales (Smithsburg, Md./Smithsburg) notched a Third Team award with a third-place finish in the 400m hurdles with a PR of 59.52.
 
Rounding out SMCM's all-league selections was junior Jaedon Aso (Lexington Park, Md./Great Mills), who picked up Second Team All-United East honors as a member of the 4x100m relay for his second career All-United East award.
 
The Seahawks finished second at the 2025 United East Championships with 226 points, a two-sport improvement from last year's fourth-place finish at the inaugural United East Outdoor Track & Field Championships.
