ITHACA, N.Y. – Five members of the St. Mary's College of Maryland sailing team garnered All-Middle Atlantic Intercollegiate Sailing Association (MAISA) awards announced April 20 following the conclusion of the America Trophy (MAISA Open Fleet Race Conference Championship) hosted by Cornell University.
Senior
Owen Hennessey (Washington, D.C./Severn) was a finalist for the MAISA Open Sailor of the Year and Sportsman of the Year awards for the second straight season while senior captain
Zoë Hoctor (Annapolis, Md./St. Mary's) was a finalist for MAISA Crew of the Year for a second consecutive year as well.

Landon Cormie (Vineyard Haven, Mass./Falmouth Academy), earned First Team All-MAISA honors at skipper while senior captain
Charlie Anderson (West River, Md./Key) was a Second Team awardee. This is Hennessey's fourth consecutive All-MAISA honor, including third straight First Team selection, while Anderson is now a two-time Second Team pick. Cormie is picking up his first career all-conference award.

Emily Shioutakon (Rockville, Md./Good Counsel) claimed First Team All-MAISA at crew. Hoctor wraps up her Seahawk career as a two-time First Team selection while Shioutakon is a first-time honoree.
This contingent helped the Seahawks to a third-place finish at the Prosser Trophy (MAISA Open Team Race Championship) on April 5-6 with a 5-2 record as well as a fourth-place finish at the America Trophy with 118 points, just three points from reaching the podium.

Brooke Bertrand (Costa Mesa, Calif./Corona Del Mar), finished third in Division A at the America Trophy while Anderson, Cormie, and Shioutakon, along with crew
Henry Haddon '25 (Bethesda, Md./Walt Whitman) and
Jane Wright '28 (Wilmington, N.C./John T. Hoggard), placed fifth in Division B.
SMCM will be back in action May 20-23 and May 27-30, competing in and serving as the host site for both the Inter-Collegiate Sailing Association (ICSA) Women's Fleet Race Championship and ICSA Open Fleet Race National Championship, respectively. St. Mary's College is seeded 20th for the Women's Fleet Race Championship while sitting 12th for the Open Fleet Race Championship.
