FAIRFAX, Va. – The St. Mary's College of Maryland men's indoor track & field team notched eight personal records, four season-best marks and one school record at the Patriot Games hosted by George Mason University at the George Mason Field House (Jan. 30-31).
Junior
Collin Fitzgerald (Annapolis, Md./Broadneck) tied the program record in the 400m dash, clocking a 51.76 to share the record with
Moses McRae '28, who set the mark last season at the United East Conference Indoor Track & Field Championships.
How It Happened
- Fitzgerald finished fifth in the 400m with a season-best and record-tying time of 51.76.
- Senior Zack Kralec (Monkton, Md./Hereford) collected a sixth-place finish in the pole vault with a height of 4.30m.
- First-year Solomon David (Stephen Decatur) posted a 10th-place finish in the long jump with 5.35m while adding a 17th-place finish in the 60m hurdles in 9.38 as he took second in his heat.
- Sophomore Pierson Hogue (Ellicott City, Md./Mount Hebron) led a contingent of five Seahawks in the 3000m run. Hogue came in 12th in 9:36.33 while junior Noah Fisher (Union Bridge, Md./Key) tallied a season-best time of 10:34.24 for 15th-place.
- Senior Nicholas Haylock (Odenton, Md./Meade) captured his heat of the 60m dash in 7.20 to finish 13th overall.
- In the 1000m, junior Jake Robey (Kensington, Md./Georgetown Prep) took 14th with a personal record of 2:48.01 while sophomore Jonathan Howell (Gaithersburg, Md./Damascus) came in 17th with a PR of 3:10.92. Sophomore Owen Swisdak (Sykesville, Md./Century) also posted a PR with 3:13.75 for 18th.
- Senior Jaedon Aso (Lexington Park, Md./Great Mills) registered a season-best time of 24.01 for 15th in the 200m dash while junior Mason Layne (Taneytown, Md./Key) placed 17th with a season-best time of 24.20.
- Senior Doel Nkalo (Montgomery Village, Md./Watkins Mills) placed 17th in the weight throw with 10.51m while going 20th in the shot put with 10.11m.
- Hogue picked up an 18th-place finish in the 800m run in 2:08.63.
- Senior Kelly Byrne (Rockville, Md./Rockville) recorded a pair of PRs in the mile and the 5000m run. Byrne ran a 4:42.33 in the mile for 21st place while notching a 16:26.28 for 32nd in the 5000m.
- Junior Bryce Webster (Saint Leonard, Md./Calvert) and Fisher collected personal records in the mile as Webster went 27th in 5:08.27 and Fisher finished 29th in 5:09.98.
- Sophomore Blake Carberry (Pylesville, Md./North Harford) clocked a PR of 17:51.74 in the 5000m run for 35th place.
