LATHAM, N.Y. – Aidan Cron (Ardmore, Pa./Haverford) was selected as the United East Conference Men's Tennis Player of the Week as announced by the league office Tuesday morning (Mar. 10). This is Cron's first career league player of the week award.
Cron contributed to the St. Mary's College of Maryland men's tennis team's 6-1 win over York College of Pennsylvania (Mar. 1) with two victories. The 6-0 first-year earned a 6-3 win with his partner,
Max Esztergomi, at No. 2 doubles over
Ian Bartles and
Drew Heinzelmann. He then posted a 6-3, 6-2 triumph over
Jason Lutz at No. 3 singles.
He then captured the most games in St. Mary's College's 7-0 loss to Goucher College (Mar. 7) as Cron fell 4-6, 1-6 at No. 3 singles to
Benedikt Rummel.
The Seahawks (1-3) will return to action next week (Mar. 16-19) at the PTR Spring Tennis Fest down in Hilton Head, S.C.
