ST. MARY'S CITY, Md. – Sophomore
Zoë Wilson's (Clarksburg, Md./Holy Cross) win at No. 5 singles clinched the second win of the season for the St. Mary's College of Maryland women's tennis team Saturday afternoon (Mar. 7). St. Mary's College (2-1) nipped Goucher College (0-4), 4-3.
DOUBLES
- The Seahawks picked up victories at No. 1 and No. 3 doubles to head into singles action with a 1-0 lead.
- First-year Lily Ganjbaksh (Potomac, Md./Winston Churchill) and sophomore Sarah Levit (Rockville, Md./Richard Montgomery) blanked Natalia Navarro and Meline Siggen at the first flight.
- First-year Addyson Harden (Lexington Park, Md./Great Mills) and junior captain Lauren Lovejoy (Newburg, Md./La Plata) posted a 6-1 triumph at No. 3 doubles over Lydia Hurst and Kendra Lanese.
SINGLES
- Ganjbaksh stretched the lead to 2-0 with a 6-0, 6-2 win over Navarro at No. 1 singles.
- Goucher knotted the match at 2-all with wins by Siggen (6-2, 6-0) and Lucy Ingraham (6-3, 6-2) at No. 2 and No. 3, respectively.
- Harden broke the tie with a 6-3, 6-2 win at the sixth flight over Nini Kandelaki.
- Wilson locked up the victory with a 6-2, 6-2 triumph at No. 5 singles over Hurst.
