LATHAM, N.Y. – Alex Lyman (Annapolis, Md./Annapolis) was named the United East Conference Men's Tennis Player of the Week as announced by the league office Tuesday morning (April 14).
 
This is the second straight week that a Seahawk men's tennis player has picked up the honor and fourth for the season. This is Lyman's first career league player of the week award.
 
Lyman helped the St. Mary's College of Maryland men's tennis team extend their win streak to six with a pair of 7-0 victories over Lancaster Bible College (April 8) and Penn State Berks (April 11).
 
Lyman partnered with Jacob Nelson '28 at No. 1 doubles for a 6-1 win over Lancaster Bible's Cole Stoltzfus and Cole Sheihing as well as a 6-2 victory over Berk's Talan Nguyen and Jazae Maina-Itegi.
 
The 6-6 sophomore captain, at No. 4 singles, posted a 6-1, 7-6 (2) triumph over PSB's Joseph Martin after cruising past LBC's Cameron Tripp, 6-2, 6-1.
 
St. Mary's College (8-5, 5-0 UEC) will return to action Tuesday, April 14, when the Seahawks welcome Penn State Harrisburg (8-6, 6-0 UEC) to the Somerset Tennis Complex for a conference match at 3 pm for their Gold Rush match.
