Box Score ST. MARY'S CITY, Md. – The St. Mary's College of Maryland women's tennis team blanked Lancaster Bible College, 4-0, in the semifinals of the 2026 United East Conference Women's Tennis Championship Tournament Tuesday afternoon (April 28).
No. 1 seed St. Mary's College (13-4) will now face No. 3 seed Penn College (9-10), a 4-0 winner over No. 2 seed Penn State Harrisburg, on Sunday, May 3, at the Hempfield recCenter in Landisville, Pa., at 1:30 pm.
The Seahawks finished the regular season with seven shutouts, including dropping only two points during league action, while registering their fourth undefeated conference record since joining the United East in 2021-22 season. In five seasons as a United East member, SMCM owns a 31-1 mark.
HOW IT HAPPENED
DOUBLES
- First-years Lily Ganjbaksh (Potomac, Md./Winston Churchill) and Addyson Harden (Lexington Park, Md./Great Mills) posted a 6-0 win over Sierra Hartmann and Jania Weist at the No. 1 spot to get the match going for St. Mary's College.
- Sophomores Sarah Levit (Rockville, Md./Richard Montgomery) and Lily Spedden (Cambridge, Md./Cambridge South Dorchester) clinched the doubles point for the Seahawks with a 6-1 victory over Natalie Hoover and Lindsey Ochs at the No. 2 position.
SINGLES
- Ganjbaksh gave the Seahawks a 2-0 advantage with a 6-0, 6-0 triumph over Hartmann at the No. 1 spot.
- Levit contributed with a 6-1, 6-1 win over Weist at the No. 2 position to move SMCM one point closer to the win.
- Junior captain Lauren Lovejoy (Newburg, Md./La Plata) clinched the match for St. Mary's College with a 6-0, 6-0 victory over Ochs at No. 4 singles, allowing the Seahawks to advance to its fifth straight United East championship match.
