LATHAM, N.Y. – Senior captain Katelin Scala (Catonsville, Md./Mount de Sales) and junior defender Claire Boudreau (Towson, Md./Towson) were selected as the United East Conference Women's Lacrosse Offensive and Defensive Players of the Week, respectively, as announced by the league office Monday afternoon (April 6).
 
This is Scala's second of the season and of her career while this is the first career weekly honor for Boudreau.
 
The St. Mary's College of Maryland women's lacrosse team split their contests last week, falling 18-9 to University of Mary Washington before rebounding with a 22-3 league victory at Cedar Crest College.
 
Scala finished with 11 draw controls, nine points, six assists, three goals, three ground balls and one caused turnover over two games. The 5-5 attacker won seven draw controls while chipping in a goal and an assist against Mary Washington. She then notched a season-best seven points on two goals and season-high five assists while adding four draws and three ground balls at Cedar Crest.
 
Scala currently ranks third in the United East with 43 draw controls while tying for third with 12 assists and tying for fourth with 30 points. She is also tied for fifth with 18 goals.
 
Boudreau collected three caused turnovers, won one draw, and scooped up one ground ball against Mary Washington before adding three draws, two ground balls, and one caused turnover at Cedar Crest.
 
Boudreau is currently tied for sixth with 30 draw controls while sitting eighth with 25 ground balls.
 
St. Mary's College (3-9, 2-0 UEC) will be back in action Saturday, April 11, when the Seahawks host Notre Dame of Maryland University (0-8, 0-1 UEC) in conference action at 1 pm for Senior Day.
