INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. – The NCAA Division III Women's Tennis Committee released the 49-team field for the single-elimination 2026 NCAA Division III Women's Tennis Championship Monday afternoon (May 4). The St. Mary's College of Maryland women's tennis team will be making their third overall NCAA appearance and first since 2023.
St. Mary's College (14-4), which claimed the United East Conference's automatic qualifying berth, drew No. 8 Carnegie Mellon University (16-7) as their first NCAA Tournament opponent. The two teams will square off in the First Round on
Friday, May 8, at 1 pm on the campus of Johns Hopkins University in Baltimore. The Johns Hopkins Tennis Courts will serve as the venue for first-, second-, and third-round action.
With a win on Friday, the Seahawks would face the winner of the Albright College (14-4) – No. 15 Case Western Reserve University (12-6) in the second round on Saturday at 2 pm.
Sunday's third round match at 10 am would feature the winner of the No. 6 Johns Hopkins (12-6) – No. 60 Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute (12-6)/Allegheny College (16-6) match versus the winner of the Carnegie Mello/SMCM – Albright/Case Western Reserve match.
St. Mary's College is fresh off collecting the program's third United East tournament championship crown on May 3 with a 4-0 win over Penn College in the title match. The Seahawks also notched their fourth overall conference regular-season championship title for their second in a row.
