ATLANTA, Ga. – The Women's Basketball Coaches Association (WBCA) announced July 21 the 2025-26 WBCA Division III Academic Top 25 Team Honor Roll and the St. Mary's College of Maryland women's basketball team earned a special mention for the fifth year in a row.

The WBCA Academic Top 25 recognizes NCAA Division I, II and III, NAIA and two-year college women's basketball teams across the nation that carry the highest combined grade point averages (GPA) inclusive of all student-athletes on their rosters for the entire season. The 2025-26 season is the 31st in which the WBCA has compiled the honor rolls.

For the fifth consecutive year, teams having a 3.0 combined GPA and qualifying for consideration for the Top 25 in their respective divisions were listed as special mentions.

St. Mary's College posted a 3.372 team GPA for the 2025-26 academic year. The Seahawks were one of five women's basketball programs to represent the United East Conference as Cedar Crest College, Gallaudet University, Penn College, and Penn State Harrisburg all made the cut as well.
 
SMCM claimed the program's third-ever conference (and second straight) regular-season championship title. St. Mary's College also collected its third tournament championship title and first since 1998-99 when the Seahawks captured its second consecutive Capital Athletic Conference (CAC) crown.
 
The Seahawks made their third appearance in the NCAA Division III Women's Basketball Championship Tournament after winning the 2025-26 United East tournament championship crown. SMCM finished this year's campaign with a 23-6 overall record, matching the program record of 23 wins from 1999-2000 when St. Mary's College posted a 23-4 log.
