Seahawks Fall in CAC Semifinals

Fredericksburg, Va. - The 10th-ranked University of Mary Washington women's tennis team is one step closer to its sixth consecutive Capital Athletic Conference championship title as the top-seeded Eagles posted their ninth straight victory with a 9-0 shutout of fifth-seeded St. Mary's College of Maryland Tuesday afternoon in CAC semifinal action.

The loss ends St. Mary's campaign with a 12-8 overall record, setting a school single-season record for most wins in a season.

Four Seahawks finished with double-digit wins, including senior Jerilyn Rogalski (Amherst, Mass./Amherst Regional) and freshman Kathleen Ramsey (Dunkirk, Md./Northern) who established a school single-season record for most wins in a season as both Rogalski and Ramsey notched 12 wins this season.  Sophomore Monica Powell (Rockville, Md./Rockville) went 11-8 on the year, while senior captain Sarah Weisse (Sykesville, Md./South Carroll) was 10-8 at No. 1 singles.
