Dover, Del. – Sophomore forward Lauriann Parker (Woodbine, Md./Glenelg) set her third record of the season and had a hand in all four goals as the St. Mary's College of Maryland field hockey team posted a 4-0 shutout of Hood College in Capital Athletic Conference action Saturday afternoon.

Parker, the reigning CAC Rookie of the Year, established the single-season record for points at 35 (thus far) this afternoon with six points on two goals and two assists, surpassing her own mark of 31 from last season.

Junior Sam Locke (Bethesda, Md./Bethesda-Chevy Chase) started the scoring for the Seahawks (9-2, 4-1 CAC) at 3:23 as Parker, from the near post, sent in a pass to the penalty stroke spot where Locke slammed it home for the 1-0 lead.

Junior Susan Smith (Chestertown, Md./Queen Anne's County) made it a two-goal game with her fourth goal of the season at 26:42 as Parker got around the defense before dishing it off to Smith for the score.

Parker gave St. Mary's a 3-0 halftime advantage as she weaved through the defense before finding the back of the cage at 27:43.

Parker notched her team-leading 16th goal at 60:09 when sophomore forward Ali McIntosh (Stevensville, Md./Kent Island) poked the ball through the legs of senior goalie Anna Marie Hantman (Queenstown, Md./Kent Island) and Parker was waiting just behind Hantman to tip it in.

The St. Mary's defense allowed Hood (1-8, 0-5 CAC) only one shot while the Seahawks fired off 19.

Senior goalie Lydia Garcia (Bowie, Md./Seton) started and completed the first half for the home team before making way for first-year Anastasia Wash (Yorktown, Va./York) who started the second half and tallied one save.

Hantman made nine saves in the loss while first-year Nicole Killmer (Clinton Corners, N.Y./Stissing Mountain) had one defensive save.

The Seahawks will be idle for the next 10 days before facing current No. 15 Catholic University in non-conference action on Tuesday, October 12 at 6:00 pm in Washington, D.C.
