Chestertown, Md. – The regionally-ranked
Washington (Md.) College women's tennis team posted an 8-1
victory over St. Mary's College of Maryland Tuesday afternoon
to snap the Seahawks' two-match win streak.
Washington (6-1), ranked ninth in the Atlantic South region,
swept all three doubles flights and singles flights No. 1 through
No. 5 before sophomore Kathleen Ramsey (Dunkirk,
Md./Northern) halted the Shorewomen.
Ramsey continued her winning ways with her
eighth consecutive victory as she notched the Seahawks' lone
point at No. 6 singles. Ramsey posted an 8-2
win over first-year Kelsey Mills (Cambridge,
Md./Cambridge-South Dorchester).
St. Mary's will be back in action tomorrow as the Seahawks
host non-conference opponent, Trinity (D.C.) University, at 3:30 pm
at the Somerset Tennis Complex.
