Doylestown, Pa. – The St. Mary's College of Maryland baseball team put the finishing touches on the 2012 season as the Seahawks posted a pair of wins over the host Delaware Valley College Aggies Sunday afternoon.  St. Mary's (17-19) came out firing in the first game with a commanding 15-7 victory while holding on for a 5-4 triumph in the nightcap.

Seniors Michael Victory (Westford, Mass./Westford Academy) and Devon Jerrard (Hunt Valley, Md./Boys Latin) both finished their Seahawk careers with wins.

Victory (6-5) pitched 6.0 innings, allowing seven runs (six earned) on 16 hits, while striking out two in the first game win.  He ends his four-year career with 94 strikeouts, 12 wins, four complete games, one save, and a 4.64 ERA in 196 innings pitched.

Jerrard (4-5) hurled his second complete game of the season as he fanned a career-high 11 Delaware Valley batters against just one walk and gave up four runs (one earned) on six hits.  In his three-year career, Jerrard recorded 83 strikeouts, 10 wins, four complete games, and a 5.15 ERA in 136.1 innings pitched.

At the plate, senior right fielder John Stewart (Annapolis, Md./St. Mary's, Annapolis) paced the Seahawks with a six-for-nine effort as Stewart connected on a double and a triple with four runs scored and three RBI.  He was 4-of-5 in the first game with two RBI and two extra-base hits.

Sophomore first baseman Alex Lenovitz (Glyndon, Md./Calvert Hall) and first-year Zach Nadolny (Sparks, Md./Bel Air) each added four hits and three RBI while Lenovitz scored three runs.

In the first game, St. Mary's opened up with six runs in the top of the first inning and never looked back.  The Seahawks then stretched their lead to 13-2 after four innings of play with five more runs in the fourth.  Delaware Valley (16-22) cut the deficit to 15-6 with four scores in the bottom of the fifth inning.

St. Mary's owned a 1-0 lead after three innings played behind Stewart's two-out RBI single in the third.  The Seahawks then claimed a 4-1 advantage in the sixth as first-year third baseman Matt Holdefer (Columbia, Md./Wilde Lake) ripped a two-out, two RBI single through the right side.

Junior shortstop Corey Napier (Hollywood, Md./St. Mary's Ryken) notched the final and eventual go-head run for St. Mary's in the top of the seventh as Napier knocked out his fourth home run of the season with two outs on the board.

The Aggies rallied in the seventh, beginning with a lead-off single before back-to-back Seahawk errors allowed Delaware Valley to close the gap to 5-3 with one out on the board.  Jerrard struck out the lead-off hitter for the second out before a wild pitch advanced the runner to second.  An RBI double to right center made it a one-run contest but Jerrard cut the rally short with his 11th strikeout of the game for the final out.
