York, Pa. – The St. Mary's College of Maryland women's tennis team moved to 3-0 in Capital Athletic Conference action Sunday afternoon with an 8-1 victory over the host York College of Pennsylvania Spartans.

The Seahawks jumped out to a 3-0 lead in the match by sweeping all three doubles matches. Senior captain Chelsea Bradcovich (Ellicott City, Md./Centennial) and first-year Anna Passaniti (White Hall, Md./Hereford) collected their 14th doubles victory of the season with an 8-3 win at No. 3 doubles, extending their win streak to eight straight. The duo is now 14-2 on the season, including an 11-2 mark at No. 3 doubles.

Passaniti and sophomore Emily Stumpfig (Frederick, Md./Gov. Thomas Johnson) then sealed the match win with straight-set victories at No. 5 and No. 2 singles, respectively. The win gave Stumpfig her team-leading 12th singles win as she extended her win streak to eight in a row.

Sophomore Shannon Ramsey (Dunkirk, Md./Northern) became the fourth Seahawk to notch 10-plus wins as Ramsey posted a 6-2, 6-1 win over junior Dea Vlahos (Broomall, Pa.) at No. 1 singles. Sophomore Lauren Rost (Darnestown, Md./Poolesville) then stretched St. Mary's lead to 6-0 with a 6-2, 6-1 win over junior Nikki Olson (Mohnton, Pa.) at No. 3 singles.

York (4-10, 2-2 CAC) avoided the shutout as Emily Price (Hampstead, Md.) picked up a tough 6-4, 7-6 (7-3) victory over junior Alyssa Stine (Columbia, Md./Atholton) at No. 4 singles.

First-year Emily Rost (Germantown, Md.) tallied a hard-fought 6-2, 7-6 (7-4) win over sophomore Emily Skutnik (Effort, Pa.) at No. 6 singles to wrap up the match for the Seahawks.

St. Mary's will be back in action on Thursday, April 11 when the Seahawks travel to Fredericksburg, Virginia to face No. 28 University of Mary Washington in a Capital Athletic Conference match at 7:00 pm.
