Frostburg, Md. – The St. Mary's College of Maryland men's basketball team picked up the Capital Athletic Conference series sweep of Frostburg State University with a convincing 72-54 win Saturday afternoon.

Senior captain Donn Hill (Aberdeen, Md./Bel Air) paced the Seahawks (15-6, 9-4 CAC) with 16 points, season-best eight rebounds, and career-high two blocks. Junior Nicholas LaGuerre (Baltimore, Md./Lansdowne) added 15 points, three boards, three assists, and three steals while sophomore forward Troy Spurrier (Mt. Airy, Md./Glenelg) chipped in 14 points, four caroms, and career-best two assists.

After junior guard Tyler Campbell (White Hall, Md.) gave Frostburg (2-19, 1-12 CAC) its only lead of the game at 17:30, St. Mary's netted 18 of the game's next 27 points for an 18-9 advantage at 8:45. FSU closed the gap to five with 29 seconds left in the half but LaGuerre drained a three to send the Seahawks into the locker room with a 32-24 halftime lead.

Hill led all scorers at intermission with 10 points while St. Mary's owned a 26-19 advantage on the boards as Hill grabbed a first-half best of five rebounds. Guards Robert Williams (Montclair, Va.) and Kurt Gangler (Oakland, Md.) paced the Bobcats with seven points each.

The Seahawks really opened up the floodgates in the second stanza, outscoring Frostburg 26-11 in the first 10 minutes to boast a 23-point lead as senior guard Christopher Hutchinson (Baltimore, Md./New Town) punctuated the run with back-to-back baskets, including a dunk.

For the game, St. Mary's shot 38.1% (24-of-63) from the floor and went 20-of-25 from the free throw line while finishing with a 49-42 rebounding margin. The Bobcats were 19-of-61 from the field and missed 10 free throws in 24 attempts.

Williams was the only Frostburg player in double-digits as he scored 14 off the bench.

St. Mary's returns to the Michael P. O'Brien Athletics & Recreation Center Arena on Wednesday, February 12th as the Seahawks look to complete the sweep of York College of Pennsylvania at 8:00 p.m.
