Van Winter Prevents Shut Out of St. Mary's Men's Tennis

Hilton Head Island, S.C. – First-year Kyle Van Winter (Scaggsville, Md./Good Counsel) was the lone winner for the St. Mary's College of Maryland men's tennis team Sunday morning in their 8-1 loss to Edgewood College (3-6) as part of the PTR Spring TennisFest down in South Carolina.

Van Winter earned a tough 2-6, 6-2, 10-2 victory over sophomore Jaime Benavides (Brawley, Calif./Union) at No. 6 singles.

The Seahawks (1-3) return to action on Monday, March 16th as St. Mary's faces Frostburg State University at 12:30 p.m. in Capital Athletic Conference action down south.
