Fredericksburg, Va. – The St. Mary's College of Maryland women's tennis team wrapped up the regular season on Wednesday night at No. 20 University of Mary Washington. Mary Washington (14-6, 7-0 CAC) posted an 8-1 Capital Athletic Conference victory over the Seahawks (9-6, 4-3 CAC).
St. Mary's, who is the fourth seed in the 2015 CAC Women's Tennis Championship Tournament, will host No. 5 seed Southern Virginia University in first round action this Saturday, April 18th. First-year Melissa Barall (Columbia, Md./Wilde Lake) notched the only point for the Seahawks for the second straight match. Barall moved to 6-1 in conference action as senior Alexandra Ritter (Virginia Beach, Va./First Colonial) retired from the match with injury. At the time of retirement, Barall was owned a 3-2 lead in the first set. She is now 16-2 on the season, including 14-1 in dual matches.
