St. Mary's City, Md. – The St. Mary's College of Maryland women's tennis team took on the Nittany Lions of Penn State Harrisburg Wednesday afternoon, winning in style, 9-0, for their second Capital Athletic Conference victory.

Entering doubles play, the Seahawks (5-6, 2-1 CAC) came out of the gate hot, racking up all three points against the Nittany Lions. Sophomore Katie Chase (Parkton, Md./Hereford) and senior Mollie Johnson (Hagerstown, Md./North Hagerstown) posted a shutout against senior Fay Ansary (Hummelstown, Pa./Hershey) and first-year MinHwa Lee (Wyncote, Pa./Ulsan, South Korea/Bishop McDevitt), 8-0, for the duo's first win of the season.

The great play from the Seahawks continued in singles action as the Seahawks won the final six matches to close the day out, 9-0. Sophomore Melissa Barall (Columbia, Md./Wilde Lake), senior captain Emily Rost (Gaithersburg, Md./Northwest), Chase, and Johnson all posted shutout victories in their matches. For Barall, it was her fifth straight singles victory as she improved to 9-2 on the season.
