Frederick, Md. – The St. Mary's College of Maryland women's tennis team closed out the weekend with a convincing 9-0 win against the Hood College Blazers for their first win of the season.

Doubles
- Senior captain Marissa Romanek (Sunderland, Md./Huntingtown) and junior Raziela Manangan (Baltimore, Md./Institute of Notre Dame) topped Hood's senior Meaghan Donahue (Walkersville, Md./Walkersville) and sophomore Kristin Histand (Charlottesville, Va./Miller School of Albemarle), 8-2, at No. 1 doubles.
- First-year Claire Bodine (Smithsburg, Md./Smithsburg) and junior Savannah Bergen (Leonardtown, Md./Leonardtown) swept their opponents at No. 2 doubles to win 8-0.
Singles
- Romanek would continue her winning ways with a 6-1, 6-2 victory over Donahue at No. 1 singles.
- The No. 2 matchup would again go in the Seahawks favor as Manangan topped Histand, 6-3, 6-1.
- The wins would continue as Bodine would not drop a game, winning 6-0, 6-0 at No. 3 singles.
- The final three matches of the day saw the Seahawks' Bergen, sophomore Natalie Edwards (Towson, Md./Notre Dame Prep), and senior Sara Eaton (Owings Mills, Md./Oregon Episcopal [Ore.]) claimed wins over their opponents in convincing fashion.
