How It Happened
- Catholic flew out to a 9-0 lead in the first quarter before senior captain Olivia Nowlin (Glenelg, Md./Glenelg) put the Seahawks on the board. A pair of free throws by first-year guard Kyaira Priest (Lexington Park, Md./Chopticon) closed the gap to 21-13 at the end of one quarter.
- Only 17 points were scored in the second frame but it was enough to send the Cardinals into the locker room with a 33-18 advantage.
- Briana Bull led all scorers with 17 points and four steals at halftime while Priest paced the Seahawks with six points off the bench.
- The Cardinals earned their biggest lead of the game during the third period as nine straight points resulted in a 28-point margin.
- St. Mary's outscored CUA, 12-4, in the fourth, including eight straight points sparked by a triple by senior guard Christine Morin (Kensington, Md./St. John's [D.C.]).
